Problems of Piracy①

Nowadays, piracy is growing more and more rampant②, especially in our metropolitan③ cities. Piratic④ VCDs, tapes, and books, etc, are spread out in various stores.

Piracy brings great loss to both producers and authors. The reasons why piracy is rooted so deeply in the market despite the poor quality lie in as follows: Firstly, the piratic ones are much cheaper than those genuine⑤ ones, which is really a great temptation for the consumers. Secondly, even if piratic ones don’t function as well as those genuine ones, people can still understand them very well. So, people are more intending to buy the piratic ones instead of genuine ones. But on the other hand, piracy damages the author’s reputation massively becomes of misprint.

The government should take measures to deal with this phenomenon thoroughly and immediately to prevent this obstinate⑥ activity from doing more harm to our society. Meanwhile, the piracy producers should be educated not to focus their attention on making a mint⑦ of money by those dishonest acts while carrying nothing about the society.
