美剧学英文「孩子如果学会这些美剧中的俚语讲起英语就和美国孩子没有差别」

我们常说中国文字博大精深，同样的读音有不同的字、同样的字有不同的读音、同样一句话音调和断句不同意思也不同……

英文中也有个很有趣的现象：在有些俚语或者固定组合里，单词都认识，组合在一起的意思却难以捉摸。这也就是为什么有些朋友词汇量很丰富，说出的英语却离“地道”差那么一点儿意思。

go bananas

直译：走香蕉（什么鬼

）

正解：表示某人发疯、疯狂的状态，情绪不稳定

举个栗子：

That lady went bananas when she met her idol.

那位女士见到她的偶像时很疯狂。

apples and oranges

直译：苹果和桔子

正解：拿两件不同的事物作比较，表示没有可比性、不可相提并论。

举个栗子：

You can't compare them。 They are apples and oranges.

你无法比较它们，它们不能相提并论。

be a peach

直译：一个桃子

正解：桃子很甜，当形容一个人是，是想表达那人很好。

电影《地狱神探》康斯坦丁的一句台词,他对路西法说:Well ,aren't you a peach.这句话在电影里的翻译就是“哦,你真好”

举个栗子：

you're such a peach！ 你真好啊！

have sour grapes

直译：有个酸葡萄

正解：酸葡萄，相当于中文里的吃不着葡萄说葡萄酸，表示有人得不到某物就说某物不好。

举个栗子：

Of course, such a conceited person is going to have some sour grapes after losing.

当然，这样自负的人在失去之后会吃到酸葡萄。

the apple of one’s eye

直译：某人眼里的苹果

正解：the apple在这儿其实有the pupil瞳孔的意思，最珍贵的位置。用来表示某个特别珍爱的人/物，掌上明珠。

电影《那些年，我们一起追的女孩》的英文译名就是You Are the Apple of My Eye.

举个栗子：

Little Kate is the apple of her father's eye。小凯特是她父亲的掌上明珠。

Be in a jam/be in a pickle

直译：在果酱里/在腌菜里

正解：可以理解成陷进果酱或者腌菜里很难爬出来，表示陷入困境。

举个栗子：

Don't go too far, or you'll soon be in a jam.

不要太过分，否则你会有麻烦。

put all your eggs in one basket

直译：把所有鸡蛋放进一个篮子里

正解：孤注一掷

举个栗子：

When planning your investments, it's unwise to put all your eggs in one basket.

当你计划投资时，孤注一掷是不明智的。

直译：打翻苹果篮

正解：破坏计划

举个栗子：

Don't try to deal with important issues or make changes that will upset the apple cart.

尽量不要处理重要事务，也不要做出破坏别人计划的改变。

）

正解：不在乎

举个栗子：

I do not give a fig what you think.
